I choose to visit the Museum of Natural Sciences located in downtown Raleigh, as my education center experience. I have always been fascinated with the environment, so when it came up on the list of local environmental education centers it was an easy choice. I toured all 4 floors of the museum and gained an abundance of new and insightful information. The museum was set up in a way that each floor represented different parts of our environment. The first floor represented marine life and contained five aquariums with animals and plants from seven marine habitats. The second floor was mountains and underground and even contained a twenty foot waterfall which I found very impressive. The third floor was mountain coves and prehistoric southern dinosaurs. The fourth and final floor, contained a living conservatory, arthropod zoo and naturalist center. Each floor was composed of different components to our environment. My favorite was the third floor. I loved seeing and learning about the prehistoric southern dinosaurs. I have never gotten the opportunity to see the real life configuration of a dinosaur up close. The Museum of Natural Sciences provides a way for guests to learn about the environment through life size recreations.
